Redlands, CA — Today, the California Teachers Association (CTA) endorsed Kris Goodfellow’s campaign for State Senate in the 23rd District. CTA includes teachers, counselors, school librarians, social workers, psychologists and nurses. These educators in the K-12 school system are joined by community college faculty and education support professionals to make CTA the most inclusive and most powerful voice of educators in the state.
The endorsement is notable because Goodfellow is running against three people — including her Democratic opponent — who all serve on school boards. Goodfellow has continued to build a robust coalition of support from organized labor, with recent endorsements coming from: SEIU California, the Inland Empire Labor Council and the Redlands Professional Firefighters Local 1354.
“The clearest pathway to growing the Inland Empire’s middle class is through a quality public education system,” commented Goodfellow. “As a passionate advocate for public education, I’ll work to ensure that all California students have access to a positive learning environment with the best tools at their disposal. Your zip code should never be a barrier to your success and it’s critical that we invest in all of our children's futures.”
“Of all candidates in the 23rd District race, Kris Goodfellow has the strongest grasp on the challenges we face as educators to provide an excellent public education to students in the Inland Empire,” said Redlands Kindergarten Teacher Nancy Glenn. "I'm pleased to support Kris and know that she will be the passionate advocate we need to improve California’s public education system.”
