Senator Connie Leyva

Senator Connie Leyva (SD-20) represents western portions of the Inland Empire. Senator Leyva also chairs the Senate Education Committee, California Legislative Women’s Caucus, and the Senate Democratic Caucus. Sen. Leyva's leadership for working families began as president of her local grocery union — the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 1428 and she worked her way up to become the first woman elected as president of the 2.1 million-member California Labor Federation.

Kris has the experience needed to help more Inland Empire families reach the middle class,” said Senator Leyva.“She understands the economic challenges workers here are increasingly facing, and she’ll be a champion in the State Senate to bring good-paying clean energy jobs to the Inland Empire.

State Controller Betty Yee

As the state’s chief fiscal officer, Ms. Betty Yee chairs the Franchise Tax Board and serves as a member of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) and the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) Boards. These two boards have a combined portfolio of more than $570 billion. Ms. Yee also serves on the Ceres Board of Directors, a nonprofit organization working to mobilize many of the world’s largest investors to advance global sustainability and take stronger action on climate change.

As a journalist and small business-owner, Kris has spent her career uncovering the truth and empowering workers. Kris' vision to bring good-paying, clean energy jobs to the Inland Empire, tackle income inequality and reduce the soaring costs of healthcare and education is why I'm pleased to support her campaign for State Senate.

Redlands City Councilwoman Toni Momberger and City of Redlands Street Tree Committee Member Lorraine Enriquez

In this movement where people of all trades, perspectives and levels of experience are hearing the call to serve the future by running for office, Kris Goodfellow is exactly the kind of candidate we hope we get. Her position as a small-business owner, her tech-savvy, her fearlessness against power and pressure to compromise her values, her working-class roots, and her history of succeeding in important roles she took with unprecedented youth combine to make a future senator I can be excited about. Goodfellow is already informed and ready to fight to protect a diversity of opportunity in education that will prepare all manner of learners for success; to ensure patients' rights are protected; to be a good steward of the world we borrow from our children. The future looks Good. As a mother, an engaged community member and an American, I support Goodfellow for Senate District 23.

After speaking with Kris early on as she explored and considered running for State Senate, I realized that I would be supportive of her candidacy. I wholeheartedly support Kris in her efforts to become our State Senator.

For the past few years, I’ve seen Kris’ compassion as a leader and motivator. She comes from a struggling Midwest farming family in Ohio where chores started at the crack of dawn. Her competitiveness and strength comes from her dad’s coaching background that encourages her to get up and keep going. She is smart, trained as a journalist, a savvy business owner and always gets the job done. I see Kris as a strong leader who will fight for better jobs in the Inland Empire, a living wage, quality education for our kids and better air quality in our region. We need Kris Goodfellow as the next State Senator in District 23.

It is with great pleasure that I am endorsing Kris Goodfellow for State Senate. Every single race is important. We need representatives that we can trust will have our best interest at heart. While I’ve only known Kris a relatively short amount of time, we bonded over our desire to make the world a better place and our desire to improve this community that we call home. Time and time again, even when things get hard, I’ve seen Kris stand up for others. She is brilliant and has great ideas, she understands the importance of working across the aisle, and most importantly, she is authentic and genuine. At every crucial junction in our recent history, Kris has stepped up to donate, volunteer, and fight for people’s rights over faceless corporations that see our lands as a dumping ground. The beauty in it is her humility- she didn’t just start working for the community, she has been doing it since she got here. With humble beginnings and a passion to serve, Kris is the most excellent candidate we could ask for. In March, I am voting for Good.

As I’ve walked the streets promoting various candidates for local, State and Federal offices throughout the Inland Empire, I have become very familiar with others that have given of their time selflessly. Kris Goodfellow is one of those people that have partnered with me to engage prospective constituents about their concerns . She listened, took notes and reported back to the candidates about what issues that folks were passionate about. It was immediately evident that Kris had a talent for engaging people in a conversation and offering hope that things can be better especially with their participation in the process. Kris Goodfellow understands the challenges that people have in making ends meet and is committed to finding ways to alleviate the struggles that so many times seem overwhelming. As a small business owner, she offers a unique perspective on the various challenges that are incumbent with running a successful business. She will take that experience and apply it toward making decisions at the State level that will benefit all of the constituents regardless of political affiliation.

Kris is authentic, passionate, smart and full of INTEGRITY, all qualities we frankly need more of in this dysfunctional political climate. Kris is also a motivator and has inspired many, including me, to step up and speak out! For me, it started with Kris inviting me to march with her in Washington, D.C. at the 2017 Women’s March. She has been a constant force in standing up for what is good for the people and our region, and for the future of our moral compass as a country. This is why Kris is running for State Senate, District 23, a region of California that has long been under represented and overlooked. She will be a tremendous asset to our district and I am proud to support her!
